Wall Street Protests: A Democracy Reform Agenda Is Born
One can have a huge middle class and tremendous income disparity at the same time. At one point in the 80s and 90s the middle class was "shrinking " because a lot of them were leaving the middle class for the upper middle class. Aside from that one can have a huge middle class and even a lower class that has rising wealth and incomes at the same time income disparity grows -- all you need is more people becoming billionair es and multi-bill ionaires etc for there to be a wider stretch from the (now higher) top to the bottom.
