Taxpayer pledge

As we move towards November make sure your candidates for elected official have signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, which is a written commitment by the signer to oppose and vote against tax hikes. The Pledge is especially important as liberal talking heads and politicians in Washington, DC refuse to deal with our overspending problems and push for higher taxes. To see if your candidates for state office, U.S. Congress, and U.S. Senate have signed the Pledge, click here.
While the Presidential race is in full swing, the talk over Mitt Romney’s Vice Presidential pick is just beginning among conservatives. Conservatives can all agree that there are many attractive options to choose from. However, ATR’s Patrick Gleason and I explain why Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal’s strong record of pro-growth policy reforms make him a Veepstakes standout in a recent Politico op-ed. Let us know your thoughts onFacebook or tweet us @taxreformer

A major point of contention during the Presidential race will be jobs and the economy. In a continuing effort by Americans for Tax Reform to highlight President Obama’s attacks on energy producers, Chris Prandoni , ATR’s federal affairs manager, recently penned a piece for on “Obama’s Plan to Kill Coal.” It is a must read for anyone looking for information on the jobs-killing and burdensome regulations created by Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency. Click here to read the article.
To highlight some vital state news, Josh Culling, ATR’s state affairs manager, recently wrote a piece in National Review Online to highlight the fact that some Illinois state Republicans might actually support Obamacare. As Josh wrote:
But at least in the past, Illinois’s Republican leadership avoided the political disaster of putting their fingerprints on legislation such as Quinn’s $7 billion income-tax increase. This time, Tom Cross seems content to cut a deal that will further imperil Illinois’s economic outlook while simultaneously eroding the national party’s messaging on the toxicity of Obamacare.
Please consider forwarding this piece to any friends or family you have in Illinois. It’s not too late to stop the Governor’s attempts to accelerate the implementation of Obamacare.
